A New Method for Radar Altimeter Sea State Bias Estimation Based on Crossover Data and Three-dimensional Nonparametric Model

  • 摘要: 海況偏差(Sea State Bias, SSB)是雷達高度計測量海面高度的重要誤差源。目前,業(yè)務(wù)化運行的雷達高度計的海況偏差校正都是采用基于風速(U)和有效波高(SWH)的2維經(jīng)驗?zāi)P头椒?,其海況偏差校正不確定度約為2 cm。該文提出一種基于交叉點數(shù)據(jù)和3維非參數(shù)模型的海況偏差估計方法,該方法利用星下交叉點數(shù)據(jù),采用基于U, SWH以及平均波周期(MWP)的3維非參數(shù)模型進行海況偏差估計。該文利用這種估計方法對Jason-2衛(wèi)星雷達高度計2009~2011年3年的數(shù)據(jù)進行了處理,將處理結(jié)果與Jason-2衛(wèi)星高度計的地球物理數(shù)據(jù)集(Geophysical Data Records, GDR)中的海況偏差校正項進行對比,結(jié)果表明該文提出的海況偏差估計方法平均能降低1.64 cm2的交叉點海面高度不符值的方差和0.92 cm2的沿軌海面高度異常值的方差,分別對應(yīng)于1.28 cm和0.96 cm的均方根(RMS)海面高度,這對于提高高度計數(shù)據(jù)產(chǎn)品的精度具有重要意義。
