摘要: 帶寬變化和丟包錯(cuò)誤是當(dāng)前Internet視頻傳輸面臨的主要問(wèn)題,解決的有效途徑是對(duì)信源采用可分級(jí)編碼和多描述編碼。研究表明,這兩種編碼方法具有互補(bǔ)性,聯(lián)合起來(lái)使用能提供更好的質(zhì)量自適應(yīng)視頻傳輸。傳統(tǒng)的聯(lián)合方案是用多描述編碼保護(hù)可分級(jí)編碼的基層信息,該文對(duì)此進(jìn)行了拓展,提出了一種改進(jìn)的多描述可分級(jí)聯(lián)合視頻編碼方案。在該方案中,首先用多描述編碼方法處理第一級(jí)可分級(jí)編碼的基層信息,然后對(duì)得到的多描述進(jìn)行第二級(jí)可分級(jí)編碼。與傳統(tǒng)方案相比,該方案的優(yōu)點(diǎn)是可以同時(shí)兼顧壓縮視頻流的效率和魯棒性。

Abstract: Current Internet video transmission is characterized mainly by variations in throughput and packet loss. Scalable Coding(SC) and Multiple Description Coding(MDC) have been proposed as source coding techniques that are robust to such channel problems. Studies showed that combination of the two approaches(MDSC) can guarantee better qualify adaptation video transmission. Traditional MDSC improves SC by introducing redundancy in base layer so that the chance of receiving at least one description of base layer is greatly enhanced. This idea is further expanded, and a new improved MDSC scheme is proposed in this paper. In the proposed approach, MDC is applied to the base layer of the first order SC, and then the derived descriptions are encoded by second order SCs. The advantage of this approach is that both the coding efficiency and robustness of the coding stream can be simultaneously considered. -
